In memory of family and friends who have lost the battle with cancer; and in support of the ones who continue to conquer it! Post this on your LJ if you know someone who has or had cancer. 93% won't copy and paste this. Will you?

The worst part of this is that I've had a friend who works in cancer research recently attend a conference where an expert in his field presented his work where his research had cured one type of cancer.  The unfortunate truth is that the drug companies make more money on the treatment drugs than they would on the cure, thus they won't fund it.

Resistance is Futile

• Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."

• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity

• Update your journal with the answers to the questions

• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions (I'll also answer more, if asked)

The extremely talented earlgreytea68 was nice enough to give me questions for this, so I'm answering below. I don't have nearly the readership that she does, but if anyone wants to continue it here, I'll play along.

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

What Tarot Card are You?

"Shouldn't Do" in Audio format

Era:  Tenth Doctor - we begin at the end of "The Next Doctor."
Pairings/Characters:  Tenth Doctor, Jackson Lake, Fourth Doctor, Romana
Genre:  Angst
Warnings:  Multi-generation spoilers, people!  As mentioned above, I start with the Tenth Doctor at the end of "The Next Doctor," which has not been officially aired in North America yet (as well as some other places, I'm sure).  We also have spoilers for "City of Death" (not too bad, just a bit of the beginning, for those who aren't familiar with it) and "Warrior's Gate" from the 4th Doctor's era. (And there are mentions in passing of "The Five Doctors" and "The Deadly Assassin." And I believe the randomiser sprung from the "Key to Time" series, though I'm not positive).  I  also reference "Time Crash" which was a Children-In-Need special meant to fit in before Ten went off to play with Kylie on the Titanic.
Rating:  PG
Length of fic:  24 minutes. Ish.
Work in Progress or Complete?:  Complete
Brief Summary:  Beginning at the end of "The Next Doctor" - the Doctor is having a bit of angst about being alone and makes the decision to go back to 1979 Paris for a bit of Time Lord company.
Other Notes:  There's a bit of dialogue in the beginning stolen from dear old RTD, and a couple lines in the second half from "David Agnew" - meaning either Douglas Adams or Graham Williams, whoever might be responsible for the two lines from "City of Death" that I needed to borrow. None of this is meant as copyright infringement, I'm not profiting from any of this, other than the warm, fuzzy feeling that comments bring.  Hopefully you enjoy it. Any constructive criticism is welcomed.  It's my first attempt at audio-booking, so I've offered up my own fic as a first try.

The nice people over at http://community.livejournal.com/dw_podfic/ have begun to ask for audio versions of who-fic, so I'm giving it a try.  Hopefully this story isn't too inaccessible as it involves references to Four and Five in addition to Ten.

Shouldn't Do

Title: Shouldn't Do
Disclaimer: The Doctor, both 4th and 10th incarnations, Romana, Jackson & Frederic Lake, Rosita, the TARDIS, Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Donna Noble and the Master all belong to the BBC, and I'm not making a profit off any of them, though in this economy, I sure wish I was.
Summary: Set at the end of "The Next Doctor," this finds our dearly beloved 10th Doctor having a bit of loneliness angst and he decides to pop back in on himself in another incarnation, desperate for a bit of contact with someone since he has no companion in his present.
Author's Notes: There's a bit of dialogue in the beginning stolen from dear old RTD, and a couple lines in the second half from "David Agnew" - meaning either Douglas Adams or Graham Williams, whoever might be responsible for the two lines from "City of Death" that I needed to borrow. None of this is meant as copyright infringement, I'm not profiting from any of this, other than the warm, fuzzy feeling that comments bring. Spoilers for "The Next Doctor" from the 10th Doctor's era and for "City of Death" (not too bad, just a bit of the beginning, for those who aren't familiar with it) and "Warrior's Gate" from the 4th Doctor's era. Hopefully you enjoy it. Comments and any constructive criticism are welcomed.

A Sort of Fairy Tale - Chapter 14/14

Title: A Sort of Fairy Tale - Chapter Fourteen
Disclaimer: The Doctor, Rose and the TARDIS belong to the BBC - I don't own or profit from any of them.  End snippets of dialogue blatantly stolen from "Army of Ghosts."
Summary: Set after "The Satan Pit" in Season 2, the Doctor and Rose land on planet Grimm, which is the origin of many an Earth fairy tale, according to the Doctor.
